Internship: Undergraduate and Graduate Studies
As a nonprofit research institute, AISMA is funded by federal and other research grants and private donor gifts to explore innovative ideas, recruit the world’s best scientists and researchers, and provide hands-on education and mentoring.
A leader in multiple forms of research, AISMA is developing and applying cutting-edge methods stemming from research in science, medicine, and education.
AISMA professional staff accept unpaid student interns for short-term immersion and semester-long learning experiences. We work with your institutions to help you earn class credit when possible.
The AISMA voluntary Research Internship (RI) program provides the opportunity for six.
(6) highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to work with and learn from a multidisciplinary team of scientists and educational researchers. The primary aim of our internship program is to train and prepare young scientists and researchers to become future leaders in quality, innovative research, and products.
Internship Objectives
Gain knowledge of and exposure to current topics in science, medicine, and educational research.
Learn study design and analysis procedures.
Observe the various steps of proposing, designing, undertaking, and analyzing clinical trials.
Become proficient in presenting scientific and medical concepts—including study design, research findings, data analysis, and results interpretation—to peers and mentors.
Based on the intern’s individual interests, he or she will be assigned a primary mentor. It is the mentor’s responsibility to advise and guide the intern with respect to achieving the aims and requirements of the program. The mentor may also, to the degree appropriate, provide information and insights regarding future academic and career development goals. Although each intern will work primarily with his/her individual mentor, dialogue with other investigators at Augustus Institute for the Sciences and Medicinal Arts is highly encouraged.
